Deadline for registering for Basic Jail Training is 30 days prior to the start of the session.
Please be aware of the physical and mental demands that are made on trainees during this course. The physical demands consist of, but are not limited to the following:
Handcuffing and being handcuffed, bending, kneeling, twisting, punching, pushing/pulling, falling to the ground, thrown to the ground (landing on chest), rolling reaching, gripping hands and fingers, finger dexterity and joint manipulation. Training requires aggressive forward, backward, and lateral movements while afoot.
Equipment: Casual clothing for fingerprinting and pat searches, sweat clothes for subject control training, tennis shoes with non-marking soles, pen, pencil, and notebook, alarm clock, 1 box of non-latex gloves, handcuffs and key, and extra towels if staying at NLETC.
Students are responsible for lodging ($25.00 per night double occupancy) and meals.
