TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) Information

Starting January 3, 2023, for scheduling efficiency purposes, TABE tests administered at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center will be administered weekly on Wednesdays beginning at 8:30 a.m. (Central Time).

Requests for weekly testing must be received prior to 3:30 p.m. (Central Time) the Tuesday before the requested testing date.

Any requests for additional testing dates are not guaranteed.

Agencies may still request TABE testing materials be mailed to them. Test proctor and administration of the test must be arranged by the local agency.

To have materials mailed to your agency or to register for a Wednesday testing date at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center contact Melody Pebley, Training and Curriculum Coordinator, melody.pebley@nebraska.gov or 308-218-6639.

If a passing score has been previously received on the TABE, documentation of that passing score is sufficient and there is no need to retake the exam. However, if an event has occurred that may have impacted the cognitive function of the applicant, since the date of the passing score, retaking the exam may be appropriate.

Please contact Melody Pebley with questions or to inquire about your TABE test results. If the results are not on file at NLETC you will need to contact the agency that administered the test.
