WATERLOO PD | Lateral Police Officer | The Village of Waterloo is currently seeking certified applicants to fill one full-time police officer position. The position will remain open until filled. Qualified applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, 21 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess a valid Nebraska driverâs license on the date of hire. Successful candidates will be in excellent physical condition and of good moral character with no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions. The department runs 12-hour shifts, allowing officers to have every other weekend off. Starting pay is $26.00 an hour, with an increase to $27.00 an hour upon completion of the probationary period. York County Sheriff's Office | Deputy Sheriff | The York County Sheriff's Department is currently staffed by 26 full time employees including patrol, clerks, and corrections. York County is located between Lincoln and Grand Island on interstate 80. Work involves providing investigative support to patrol officers; Writing detailed case reports and filing and maintaining records on misdemeanor and felony cases they have worked; Conducting investigations on criminal offenses to gather evidence, obtaining witnesses, observing suspects, and making arrests or appropriate referrals; Conducting threat assessments; Preparing cases for presentation to the county attorney for prosecution; Testifying in the court of law regarding cases in which they have knowledge and in which they have made investigations; and providing general safety for the citizens of York County.
