In 2024 each officer must obtain thirty two (32) hours of training in the following topic areas:
- Refresher courses on de-escalation, mental health, and substance abuse issues;
- A minimum of two (2) hours of anti-bias and implicit bias training;
- Firearms; additional training (The actual qualification on firearms does not count toward the hours of training.)
- Officer wellness;
- Legal updates, including but not limited to, legislative changes and First and Fourth Amendment issues;
- Vehicular pursuit policy review
