Agency Accreditation Status
Per Nebraska Revised Statute §81-1414-18 (1)(b): “Beginning January 1, 2023, the commission shall post on its website a list of all law enforcement agencies that are not accredited as required by this subsection. The commission shall update the list at least annually, and more frequently as the commission deems necessary.” The Commission has elected to post the accreditation status of all agencies.

Accredited agencies hold such status until January 1, 2026. Agencies listed as “Pending” are resolving issues to meet accreditation standards. Agencies listed as “Late Submission” applied after the review deadline and will be processed during the first quarter of 2023. Agencies listed as “Did Not Apply for Accreditation” did not submit an accreditation application to the Commission.
Of note, per Nebraska Revised Statute §81-1414.18 (1)(c), “A law enforcement agency that is not accredited as required by this subsection shall be ineligible to receive loans, grants, funds, or donations administered by the commission until the commission determines that such agency has been properly accredited.” Agencies that are not accredited are ineligible to apply for any Commission funding on or after January 1, 2023, until state accreditation is attained.
