Justice Behavioral Health Committee

The Justice Behavioral Health Committee (JBHC), formerly known as the Justice Substance Abuse Team, was created in 2003 to help improve communication and collaboration between the criminal justice and treatment systems. JBHC is staffed by the Community Corrections Division of the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.

JBHC consists of 34 members representing the Executive and Judicial branches as well as behavioral health treatment providers and consumers. JBHC has established the Data, Curriculum, Sex Offender, and Provider sub-committees to assist in fulfilling its mission.

Mission: The Justice Behavioral Health Committee’s mission is to ensure integration, cooperation, and active communication between the justice system and treatment systems, substance abuse, and mental health.

Vision: JBHC strives for a collaborative working relationship between justice and treatment providers for the ultimate goal of effective competent client care. Our vision involves educational endeavors, data monitoring, provider competency, and strategic planning.
