Basic Jail Officer Training

Deadline for registering for Basic Jail Training is 30 days prior to the start of session.  The medical form for jail training is not needed any longer.

Please be aware of the physical and mental demands that are made on trainees during this course. The physical demands consist of, but are not limited to the following:

Handcuffing and being handcuffed, bending, kneeling, twisting, punching, pushing/pulling, falling to the ground, thrown to the ground (landing on chest), rolling, reaching, gripping hands and fingers, finger dexterity and joint manipulation. Training requires aggressive forward, backward and lateral movements while afoot.

Lodging is $20.00 per night double occupancy. Students are responsible for meals. NLETC reserves the right to limit the number of attendees from any one agency.

Equipment: Casual clothing for fingerprinting and pat searches, sweat clothes for subject control training, tennis shoes with non-marking soles, pen, pencil and notebook, alarm clock, 1 box of non-latex gloves, handcuffs and key
